TOYOKATTO SUPER W-101S is a water soluble press and cutting agent developed for use in plastic working, presses and extruders. It functions beautifully for plastic working which used to require a water insoluble press and cutting oils. As it is water soluble, it is hygenic and cleaning only requires hot or cold water.
Also, as it has excellent extreme pressure performance it can be used for cutting processes in press working, MC and NC lathes.
W-101S is an emulsion with a extreme pressure agent additive providing improved extreme pressure performance and lubricity.
The emulsion can be used in the machining field in such areas as high speed cutting and grinding of steel alloys by machine centers and milling machines as well as thread cutting by tapping machines and chasers which were previously impossible without a water insoluble cutting fluid. Naturally, it is possible to use in most automatic machines such as NC lathes, not just machining centers. The emulsion includes a special anti-bacterial substance giving a product that does not deteriorate and has a long life.

Performance

① Lubricity

TOYOKATTO SUPER W-101S has superior lubricity and in comparison to other cutting oils demonstrates a performance equivalent to or in excess of sulfide chloride type extreme pressure in-soluble cutting oils. The TOYOKATTO SUPER W-101S also includes an extreme pressure additive giving an exceptionally smooth finish to metal processing.

② Cooling effect

As TOYOKATTO SUPER W-101S is water soluble so it has a remarkable cooling effect in comparison to water insoluble oils. The cooling effect differs slightly depending on the oil it is compared to but generally speaking it is more than seven times that of non-aqueous cutting oils. It is said the life of a tool is inversely proportional to the square of the temperature of the blade tip. When using TOTOKATTO SUPER W-101S, tool life is extended and cutting speed maximized with the combination of the strong cooling effect, anti-welding deposit properties and extreme pressure lubrication capability.

③ Corrosion inhibition

TOYOKATTO SUPER W-101S is a very strong corrosion inhibitor. Generally, water soluble cutting fluids are diluted with water just before use. Naturally the dilution ratio increases as the solution becomes more highly functioning. The standard dilution ratios of commonly used water soluble cutting fluids are 1:20 to 1:60 for soluble solutions. TOYOKATTO SUPER W-101S can be used at an average of 1:50 to 1:60.
 ∗ Even if diluted by 1:200 with water, the result of a Herbert test showed no corrosion.

Examples

TOYOKATTO SUPER W-101S has a strong affinitity for metals. It demonstrates excellent moistening properties even on oil soaked working surfaces. The TOYOKATTO SUPER W-101S water soluble emulsion has extremely high dispersivity meaning less is required making it very economical. In some cases, when working difficult to cut materials, using the emulsion in a concentration of 1:5 to 1:10 enhances the performance making the work easier.

There are many successful cases of raising the concentration to work difficult to cut materials such as high-chrome, high-nickel alloys, titanium and titanium alloys.
